Priorities for Waukesha

Waukesha residents deserve a city government that delivers high-quality services while living within its means. Over the years, we have tightened our belts, cut costs, and found efficiencies, but the challenges created by the state’s shared revenue system remain. As Mayor, I will push for creative solutions that reduce inefficiencies and identify new funding opportunities so our community can continue to thrive. I will also fight to fix the broken system in Madison that has placed this burden on local governments and advocate for a fairer path forward.

Fiscally Responsible Government

A great city is one where families feel safe, housing is attainable, and neighbors can come together to enjoy community events. Even with budget pressures, Waukesha should never lose sight of what makes us special. I will work with developers to ensure a balance of housing options that includes affordable units, partner with businesses and other levels of government to fund community activities, and continue to support the fire and police departments that keep our residents safe and healthy.

Strong Services for Residents

I love this city and the people who call it home. My goal is simple: to make sure Waukesha continues to be a place where families feel safe, businesses can thrive, and neighbors feel connected to their community."

Public service means putting people first. During my time on the Common Council, I have made it a priority to answer every call, respond to every email, and listen to the voices of residents. Every vote I take is grounded in what is best for the community, not politics or personal gain. As Mayor, I will bring that same commitment to transparency, accessibility, and accountability to ensure local government truly serves the people of Waukesha.

Government That Works for the People

Alicia Halvensleben

Understanding local government should not feel overwhelming. Too often, residents tell me, “Thank you for that explanation,” because the process has never been made clear to them. I believe one of the most important roles of a local leader is to help people navigate government and feel empowered to get involved. Whether through one-on-one conversations or community programs like the Local Government Academy, I will continue working to open the doors of City Hall and bring more residents into the decisions that shape Waukesha’s future.
