Meet Alicia Halvensleben
Candidate for Waukesha Mayor
Dear Neighbors,
My name is Alicia, and I am honored to serve as the Alder for Waukesha’s 11th District and as President of the Common Council. For more than 12 years, I have called Waukesha home, and in that time, I have come to love everything that makes our city special. From the energy of Friday Night Live and the Art Crawls downtown, to the strength of our small businesses, to the welcoming spirit of our neighborhoods, Waukesha is a place unlike any other.
I grew up in Wisconsin, spending my childhood in Evansville before moving to Milwaukee with my family. When I found Waukesha, I knew I had found the place where I wanted to put down roots. I am a proud homeowner, a neighbor, and someone who is deeply invested in seeing this city thrive.

Public service was not always the career path I expected. By trade I am a salesperson, but I have always had a passion for politics and for making government work for the people it serves. That passion led me to run for Common Council, where for the last four years I have worked hard to listen to residents, respond to their needs, and make thoughtful decisions on their behalf. For the past two years, I have also had the privilege of serving as Council President, helping to guide conversations and ensure that all voices are heard.

Now I am running for Mayor because I believe Waukesha is at an important moment. We are a growing, vibrant community with so much potential, but we also face challenges that require experienced local leadership and creative solutions. I want to keep Waukesha fiscally strong, support our small businesses, protect public safety, and make sure every resident feels connected to their local government. Most of all, I want to preserve the sense of community that makes Waukesha the best place to live, work, and play.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I am grateful for this community and for the chance to earn your trust and vote for mayor. Together, I know we can keep Waukesha moving forward.
